This year marked historic milestones at Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation (MSHF)! We established our very first endowments thanks to the profound generosity of the Noor Cultural Centre and the legacy of C. Donald Brodie and the Brodie family. Totalling more than $7.5 million, these endowments will help transform health care in our community for generations to come.

Government can’t fund all of the hospital’s priority needs. Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) is committed to delivering integrated care for healthier communities, and we can’t do it without you! Community investment helps equip MSH’s award-winning staff with leading-edge technology to help provide the best patient outcomes possible.

Here are a few highlights of the impact you made this past year:

Community giving helped purchase essential orthopaedic surgical tools, such as cordless drills and sagittal saws, to support our aging population and growing need for joint surgeries.
Your generosity enabled the ongoing upgrade of surgical booms in all our surgical services suites. Surgical booms centralize all surgical support equipment, making them fundamental to a variety of procedures performed at MSH.
With your support, we have a new fleet of ultrasound machines, a critical tool used in identifying and diagnosing a variety of illnesses, including cancer. Used across multiple departments—from the Cancer Centre to the Emergency Department—ultrasound machines found answers quickly and painlessly for thousands of patients on their health care journey.

Over the past year, Uxbridge Hospital Foundation (UHF) has taken significant strides forward as we strengthen the vision for our hospital’s future, while celebrating its long history of caring for generations of our patients and the community we call home. Working closely alongside our partners at Uxbridge Hospital and across Oak Valley Health, we are working to build a thriving community of support around our cause, one that will shape a brighter tomorrow for our beloved community hospital.

Through our donors' generous support and partnerships, as well as events that rally our community around the hospital, we are moving closer than ever to achieving our goals. This support ensures our doctors, nurses, and staff can continue delivering exceptional care for Uxbridge and the surrounding communities. It also helps us secure much-needed, state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology, ensuring we keep pace with the highest standards of care close to home.

With our Campaign Cabinet now in place and actively working with community leaders to fundraise for our local share, we are looking ahead to the development of Uxbridge’s new hospital and all the extraordinary possibilities it will create for our community. With more events to look forward to and more opportunities to cultivate support for this long-awaited evolution of Uxbridge Hospital on the horizon, our Foundation team is eager to connect with you over the coming months as we celebrate the amazing progress we are making for Uxbridge.
